And it definitely gets easier with time - if anything probably just because your mind gets used to it.

Christmas was a breeze - lots of turkey, fruit salad, roasted sweet potatoes and turnips (parsnips?), haha more turkey, and some shrimp. :) When the cookie plate was passed around, if I wanted it then I would have it. Grandma's Christmas only comes but once a year! But honestly there was no craving - too wrapped up in the conversation and the laughing.

I feel like when I transitioned to Paleo, I suddenly remembered that the focus was on family or the company, not the food! The Triathlon Rxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09236294560590360521noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6733657410255172263.post-2378979412982439262010-12-21T13:27:09.785-06:002010-12-21T13:27:09.785-06:00re: paleo --> i heart carbs too much to do that...re: paleo --> i heart carbs too much to do that, but i do think that the quality of the carbs matter :) sweet potatoes > ritz crackers, for example.

i had to write you today b/c this morning i ran outside in 33 degree weather. i was SO going to go to the treadmill but thought of your comment about 3 degrees and realized i could (and should) suck it up :)sarah (SHU)https://www.blogger.com/profile/09785177204149427781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6733657410255172263.post-19188254259927711812010-12-20T07:21:20.329-06:002010-12-20T07:21:20.329-06:00you are so right about the "no thanks" b...you are so right about the "no thanks" being sufficient enough. i always am afraid that i'm going to hurt the other person's feelings or something though hahah!

glad that the paleo diet made you feel good and i'm actually glad that you weren't able to stick to it 100%. because it makes me feel better because i know that i'd only be able to hit 70-80% too. yes i am that selfish to think of that ;)

happy christmas! safe travels!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6733657410255172263.post-79455399653537666442010-12-20T06:44:41.272-06:002010-12-20T06:44:41.272-06:00I agree with what you said about "If you don&...I agree with what you said about "If you don't want something - a simple "No thanks" will do" - we often think that we need to justify our actions for others - when really most people won't care whether we skip over the choc-chip cookies or mash potatoes or whatever is being offered.

IMO - A healthly diet comprised of natural food products and moderation involving the "other" stuff is the most likely diet to succeed.

I hope your travels keep you ahead of any nasty weather today and tomorrow.

ENJOY the holiday season - ENJOY the moment - Give Thanks!

Merry Christmas Chelsea!RunningFromCancerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16002223179120563077noreply@blogger.com
