I guess I'm wondering HOW much slower is the run than what you are aiming for. Running fatigued is what trains your body to power on in a race. Of course, there's only a certain point as to which this is counter-productive. If it's just 10-20 seconds per mile slower, I wouldn't worry at all. If it's more than that, maybe you do need to cut back.L.A. I run T/Th/Sun most of the time (Saturdays on occasion if it's a race or other event, like today). I cross-train on the alternating days and it has worked out really well. I have read that a complete rest day before a long run is best for muscle recovery. (I wish I had done that instead of taking step last night.)
